About Ratio Calculator

Ratio problems usually fall into three jobs: simplify a:b, solve a proportion a:b = c:x, and split a total by ratio (partitive distribution). This tool covers all three. Simplify divides every term by their GCD (decimals are scaled to integers first). Proportion solves x = (b × c) / a and shows both sides reduced for a quick check. Distribute splits a total in the given ratio and lists each part with its percent share. Optionally add a third ratio term. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent to toco.tools servers.

Can I simplify decimal ratios?

Yes. Inputs like 0.5:1.5 are scaled to integers first, then reduced (e.g. 1:3).

Does proportion only solve for x?

Yes — it solves a:b = c:x for the trailing x. To find another unknown, rearrange the ratio and enter it in that form.
