Sobre Calculadora de margem e markup

Gross margin and markup are often confused. Margin is profit as a percent of selling price; markup is profit as a percent of cost — the same profit yields different percentages (e.g. cost 75, price 100 → 25% margin, ~33.3% markup). This calculator has five modes: cost+price, cost+margin %, cost+markup %, price+margin %, and price+markup %, and fills in the rest including profit. Everything runs in your browser. ⚠️ Ignores taxes, discounts, overhead, and accounting standards. Educational estimates only — not financial, investment, tax, or pricing advice.

Perguntas frequentes

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Gross margin = (price − cost) ÷ price × 100. Markup = (price − cost) ÷ cost × 100. One is on selling price; the other is on cost.

What markup equals a 25% margin?

With cost 75 and price 100, margin is 25% and markup is about 33.33%. In general markup% = margin% ÷ (100 − margin%) × 100.

Can I use a 100% margin?

No. A 100% margin implies zero cost, which is out of range.

Is this financial advice?

No. ⚠️ Educational estimates only — not investment or tax advice.

Is my input sent anywhere?

No. All calculation runs in your browser.
