关于chmod 计算器

A chmod calculator converts Unix/Linux file modes between octal numbers and symbolic notation—handy when you need to know what 755 means or turn rwxr-xr-x into a number. Toggle Read / Write / Execute for owner, group, and other, plus optional setuid, setgid, and sticky bits. Octal and symbolic inputs stay in sync, and you get a ready-to-copy `chmod 755 file` command. It understands s/S/t/T special-bit letters and an optional `ls -l` file-type prefix (`-rwxr-xr-x`). Everything runs locally in your browser.

使用方法

  1. Check owner / group / other permissions
  2. Optionally enable setuid / setgid / sticky
  3. Copy octal, symbolic, or the chmod command

常见问题

Are 755 and rwxr-xr-x the same?

Yes. Owner rwx (7) and group/other r-x (5) make both 755 and rwxr-xr-x equivalent.

What are setuid, setgid, and sticky?

Special bits: setuid (4000) runs as the file owner, setgid (2000) runs as the group or inherits group on directories, and sticky (1000) restricts deletion in a directory to each file's owner.

What do s and t mean in symbolic mode?

When execute and a special bit are both on, the x slot shows s (setuid/setgid) or t (sticky). If the special bit is on without execute, you get uppercase S or T.

Is my data sent externally?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to toco.tools servers.
