Unlike the other tools, this one is not browser-only: detecting your own addresses sends a short request from the browser to a public echo service (icanhazip). Looked-up addresses are sent through our server to an external geolocation provider. Lookups are not stored. Results are estimates based on IP allocation and can be inaccurate.

Depending on implementation, lookups may call public services, meaning the queried IP could reach third parties. GeoIP is approximate and wrong behind VPNs or CDNs; do not rely on it alone for security decisions.
