关于Punycode Converter

Punycode encodes Unicode domain labels into DNS-safe ASCII ACE form with the `xn--` prefix (RFC 3492). Internationalized domain names (IDN) in Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and more appear as readable characters in the address bar, while DNS lookups use the `xn--…` form. toco.tools converts IDN → Punycode and Punycode → IDN both ways. Paste a bare domain or a full `https://…` URL—only the hostname is rewritten; path and query stay intact. Multi-line input is supported. Unicode → ASCII prefers the browser URL API (IDNA) when available; ASCII → Unicode uses a pure RFC 3492 decoder. Everything runs locally in your browser—handy when checking certificates, DNS, or redirects.

使用方法

  1. Paste a domain or URL (multi-line OK)
  2. Choose IDN → Punycode or Punycode → IDN
  3. Copy the result

常见问题

What’s the difference between Punycode and IDN?

IDN is the human-readable Unicode domain; Punycode (xn--) is the DNS-safe ASCII form of the same name.

Can I paste a full URL?

Yes. Only the hostname is converted; path, query, and hash are preserved.

What about already-ASCII domains?

They are lowercased and returned as-is. On decode, xn-- labels become Unicode.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. All conversion runs in your browser; nothing is sent to toco.tools servers.
